How long can an item Remain up for Auction?
The maximum length of any standard auction listing is currently 14 days.
When you create your auction, you can set your auction to automatically relist if it does not sell. The maximum number of times that an item can be relisted is 99 times.
We would suggest that you would seriously consider the length of the auction and the number of relistings that you select when creating your auction.
You can of course always use the Custom Start and Custom End time to allow your listings to begin whenever you would like in the future, and to complete whenever you like in the future as well. This is especially effective for listings using the Buy-Now feature. You will notice many listings on TradingCardAuctions.com that extend many weeks or months into the future.
FIRST BIDDER AUCTIONS
The 1st person to bid Wins!
Set your Auction Listing Start Price, Reserve Price, Decrement (reduction) Amount and Decrement Time (and optional Custom End Date)
Listing starts at $100, has a reserve price of $50, Decrement Amount is set to $1, Decrement Time is set to every 24 Hours.
(This means the listing start price will automatically decrease by $1 every 24 hours, but will never fall below the set reserve price.)
Listing has a Custom End Date set to allow the listing to run for 60 Days.
People start watching.
20 Days pass, the listing price has decreased automatically to $80, a bid comes in... Instantly a Winner, auction is closed! First Bidder Wins!
CUSTOM START & CUSTOM END Listing Periods
The Custom Start Time and Custom End Time options are available as features when you are listing new items for sale and allow your listings to remain active for your own specified time frame, as opposed to the standard of our system's pre-defined times of 2,3,5,3, 10 and 14 days.
These are especially effective and useful features for listings with the Buy-Now option selected, whereas there is less of a need to limit the time frame of the listing to the pre-defined options.
Custom Start Time
Using this feature will allow you to schedule your listing to 'Start' at your own defined starting date and time in the future.
Custom End Time
Using this feature will allow you to define your own listin 'End' time which you can extend to any point in the future.
You can use either, or both of these features on any given listing. Please be sure to fill in the entire custom time, including the hours and minutes fields when using these features.
The Custom End Time is especially useful for making your listings last many weeks, months (or even a year or more) and is very effective when it comes to your listings being spidered by the search engines such as Google. Using this feature and extending your listing into the future means search engine visitors are more likely to be sent to your live listing instead of a closed listing.
Please ALSO NOTE: The use of the Custom Start and Custom End times for very long period listings is really only appropriately used in conjunction with Buy-Now listings, NOT Auctions. It would not really make much sense to have an auction that runs for a super long extended period of time.
Closed listings which have NOT sold will be removed from the system after as early as 21 days. If you have closed listings which you wish to re-list again in the future and are not using the automatic re-list feature, please keep this in mind.
Closed listings which HAVE sold will remain on the system for at least 90 days.
Can I Link to my web site or other venues?
Yes, and No.
We DO allow sellers to place links to their external web sites on their store home pages and about me pages, as long as the seller actually owns the domain name on which the site lives on. Sellers can provide links directly to their website domain only, (ie www.YourWebSite.com), but NOT to any specific page or section (ie www.YourWebSite.com/webpage.html)
We do NOT allow sellers to place links to external web sites for which they do NOT own the domain, such as eBay, Etsy, Amazon or otherwise.
If you have a question about about whether a particular link is allowed, please inquire first.
If we cannot confirm whether a domain in a link in your listing is actually registered to you, then please do not include the link or the listing may be removed.
Listings found with non allowed links in them will be removed.
